Sam Bliss: Drums My main influence growing up was definitely my dear ole' dad: “Fender Bender Foxtrot”. He got me going on great music from a very young age with artists like Deep Purple, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Dream Theater, Blue Oyster Cult, and countless others. Another type of music that influences me is old school and underground hip hop, artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, A Tribe Called Quest, and so many more of course. I like to think that my musical taste is pretty varying. WTF doesn't have much to do with hip hop as much as classic and progressive rock, but my drumming is a result of hours and hours of just hearing great music with my good friends, like my dad. WTF is really an exciting thing for me, how could anyone pass up being in a kick ass band with their dad, and an experienced gigger like Tango Truck? We're really just here to melt faces, and I think that will be accomplished vigorously :D. WTF!!!
From his dad: “Sam exhibited an early ear for music when he could identify songs played on the Muzak at the grocery store before he was even school-age! His first gig was at age 12 as a co-lead guitar player with the band Pyroma. He's also played frequently as drummer for both Crashworthy and Finding Cadence in Minneapolis. Another recent project was with Mike Bliss for the music written and recorded under the name Salty Salt for the short film, "The Man Who Couldn't Stop Eating Cake." Besides being the drummer for WTF, Sam is also currently the lead guitarist for The Unmentionables. He's a junior at Southwest High School in Minneapolis and enjoys hockey, golf, wakeboarding and wiffleball.”
